✂ Finding Purpose and Professionalism

Once I felt the freedom of it, cutting brought me a newfound purpose: to help and aid people in feeling good about themselves. But even having this ability, this gift from my ancestors, didn't automatically compel me to cut hair.

Upon my release, I searched for employment and found a few different options to work. I worked them for a number of years, yet none of those moved me to stay. Still searching for a career, I continued on my path until I met the one who would help me see my purpose. She would give me the confidence, the support, and a place to cut my first head. It was her love and belief in me that gave me the strength I needed to take the leap of faith to become a trained Professional Barber. Her job, however, was just to show me the path to my success. I would have to walk this walk of success with another virtuous woman that I would eventually marry ; as we would not continue on the path together.

After obtaining my license, which took several tries, in 2015 to be exact, I started cutting in a local barbershop called Stylz. At the time, it was located on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport, CT. Stylz had two Master Barbers who gave me all the pointers I needed to become a successful barber. Inside Stylz were all the ingredients I needed to figure out shaving, fading, and the temperament of people. Because of its location, there was always an influx of willing people to allow me to apply my craft so that I could get better.
